ICTSI Sherwood Ladies gets under way

Cyna Rodriguez seeks redemption starting Tuesday when the P750,000 ICTSI Sherwood Hills Ladies Championship tees off at the ravine-laden layout in Trece Martirez, Cavite.

Rodriguez is again fancied to dominate the field with Dottie Ardina giving the tournament a miss to pursue her LPGA dreams overseas.

And the well-built former Philippine Ladies champion hopes to get back on track after her three-tournament winning streak was cut short by Thai Amolkan Phalajivin at Splendido in Tagaytay two months ago.

Jayvie Agojo and Chihiro Ikeda are also in the lean 37-player roster chasing the P150,000 champion’s prize, the biggest to be given in the two-year history of the fledgling tour.

Rodriguez, Agojo and Amolkan will be in the featured group teeing off at 7:40 a.m.

Agojo is due for a win with her first and only triumph coming in the Riviera leg this season.

Princess Superal, the reigning US Junior Girls champion, heads a banner cast of amateurs also seeing action. She actually won last year’s Baguio leg of the circuit backed by Nike, Pacsports, Custom Clubmakers and Sharp.
