MANILA, Philippines–She may have missed the Thanksgiving Day in the United States but it’s all worth it for tennis supertar Maria Sharapova who will be part of the three-day International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) in Manila.
Sharapova, in a Twitter post on Friday, said the atmosphere in Manila looked promising.
Sharapova arrived in the Philippines Thurday night for the three-day tennis leg, which would start 4 p.m. this Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
She is ranked world No. 4 by the Women’s Tennis Association and is the top Russian player.
She has won 32 WTA singles titles including five grand slam titles.
