Samboy Lim collapses, rushed to hospital

MANILA, Philippines–Philippine basketball legend Avelino “Samboy” Lim was rushed to the Medical City after collapsing at the end of a pickup basketball game.

Lim fell unconscious minutes after participating in an exhibition game of PBA Legends at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.

After Lim collapsed, the game was called off.

Nelson Asaytono was quoted in a report, saying that Lim was doing stretching exercises in the sidelines, but as soon as their coach Bogs Adornado pulled him out of the game, the athlete formerly known as Skywalker collapsed.

Lim continues to lead an active lifestyle, teaching kids basketball at his weekly Skywalker Basketball Camp at Dumlao Sports Center in Mandaluyong.
