Even the fittest of racers may be pushed to the limit when the Enervon Activ 226 Bohol Triathlon fires off this weekend on Panglao Island.
A lung-busting 226-kilometer swim-bike-run race, featuring a full marathon in the final leg, is expected to test even the veteran triathletes when the event kicks off at 7 a.m. on Dec. 6 at the posh The Bellevue Resort.
Raul Cuevas, head of the organizing Bike King, said there will be cut-off times—two hours and 20 minutes from the start time in the swim course, 10:30 hours in the bike and 17 hours in the final run leg—to ensure the safety of the participants.
Participants are expected to be in Bohol by Dec. 5 to pick up their race kits and attend the race briefing.
The gruelling event gets going the following day with a 3.8K swim at the resort, followed by a 180K bike race that traverses the municipality of Valencia. The 42K marathon caps the race that will wind up at the resort.
