Team UAAP-PH bags volley bronze

Team UAAP Philippines repeated over Malaysia, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16, to bag the women’s volleyball bronze medal in the 17th Asean University Games yesterday in Palembang, Indonesia. It was the country’s first international medal in the sport since the 2005 Southeast Asian Games, as the Filipinos ended their stint with three wins against two losses. Alyssa Valdez again powered the Filipinos with 16 hits, while Ella de Jesus added 14 points. Team UAAP-Philippines now has a 4-4-5 gold-silver-bronze medals to be in fifth place.
