Capacio wishes ‘cool’ coach Pacquiao a happy birthday
MANILA, Philippines – Celebrating his 36th birthday on Wednesday, Manny Pacquiao must have heard all the well-wishers since the break of day.
On this special occasion, his assistant coach at his PBA team KIA Sorento, Glenn Capacio, was all praises for the boxing champion.
Capacio said that even in the midst of Pacquiao’s sporting success, the KIA head coach admits that there are so many people better than him in basketball.
“He always shares to the team that there are so many players better than him,” Capacio said Wednesday. “But, he beats them in effort, he has an unbelievable work ethic.”
Capacio said that “boss” Manny can get his players pumped whenever he speaks, and every single man listens to him.
Despite the face-crushing sport where Pacquiao came from, the KIA head coach is a very calm person when he talks with the team.
“Players are motivated every time boss Manny speaks,” Capacio said. “And whenever he gives instructions he’s always calm, just like how he talks to someone.”
“And he does not like players cussing.”
Even though Pacquiao was pretty much missing for the majority of the PBA Philippine Cup due to his boxing commitments, Pacquiao, Capacio said, would take time to give some positive vibes to each and every player.
Capacio said that Pacquiao would pull one player and talk to him in private.
“Depends on the situation, sometimes he would talk privately to a player, boss Manny is a very positive person.”
For his boss’ birthday, Capacio had this to say,
“Happy birthday, boss Manny! The world may drag you down a hundred times, but God will always be there to raise you up a thousand times.”
