Lady Falcons winning streak hits 50 in UAAP softball

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson continued its winning ways in softball in the 77th Season of the UAAP.

The Lady Falcons extended their streak to 50 games spanning four seasons after scoring an 8-1 drubbing of University of the Philippines at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium over the weekend.

Adamson, eyeing a fifth consecutive softball crown, is in second place at 2-0 behind league-leading University of the East. The Lady Warriors boast a 3-0 mark after stunning National University, 3-2.

An early home run by Queenie Sabobo set the tone for the Lady Falcons, who only needed four innings to dispose of the Maroons

Ateneo bowed to La Salle, 3-1 in the other softball match, as the Lady Archers gained solo third place at 2-1.

In baseball, reigning champion Ateneo remained unbeaten in three games after clobbering University of Santo Tomas, 12-2, in eight innings behind  Dio Remollo, Adrianne Bernardo and Matt Laurel.

The Growling Tigers, meanwhile, absorbed their first loss after a 2-0 start.

La Salle’s baseball team also won, 7-6, over Adamson, while NU turned back UP, 12-9.
