MANILA, Philippines—Manny Pacquiao uttered just two words, but they were more than enough.

“Tuloy ‘yan (It will push through),” said Pacquiao Tuesday when pressed for comment on the status of negotiations for his projected megabuck bout showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Pacquiao’s assurance was a relief, considering that fight fans are becoming cynical following Mayweather’s announcement Sunday that neither one of them has signed a contract for their showdown tentatively set on May 2.

It also buttressed Pacquiao’s earlier statement that fight negotiations are in the homestretch and that it would be best to wait for the announcement coming from Team Mayweather.

According to Pacquiao, he has agreed to all the terms imposed by Mayweather and even told abs-cbn.news.com that he has included a $5-million fine if either one of them fails the drug test.

Meantime, Pacquiao is making sure not to be caught flat-footed with a delayed announcement by Mayweather.

Pacquiao jogged in the vicinity of his Forbes Park mansion and then played basketball at the exclusive village’s covered court.
