That fan is Ateneo leader Alyssa Valdez.

Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles swept the 14-game elimination round of the UAAP Season 77 Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday to receive trip straight to the Finals, blasting their last hurdle to achieve that, which was the Galang-led De La Salle University Lady Spikers.

Valdez said that throughout their match, Galang would time and again bring her team close and not let any momentum shift to the girls in blue.

“Galang was amazing, her leadership skills are just wow,” Valdez said after they trumped La Salle, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23, 27-25 to clinch the first Finals spot. “Every time she would lift La Salle, it’s amazing how she can lift her team.”

“She’s a leader and La Salle is La Salle.”

Valdez, the reigning league Most Valuable Player, finished the game with 29 points, while Galang, also a former MVP, had 20.
