Upsets rock Dickies Cup caging

MANILA, Philippines—University of the East and Adamson both stunned their fancied rivals in the Smart-PCABL 4th Dickies Cup over the weekend at Philippine Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.

The Lady Warriors upset the defending champions Centro Escolar University-CafeFrance Lady Scorpions, 67-64, to snap a two-game losing run.

Cherry Ano-os exploded for 12 points in the payoff period to end CEU’s two-game winning run.

The Lady Falcons, on the other hand, leaned on the hot hands of Jamie Alcoy in the third quarter to pull off a 64-57 win over the Far Eastern University-Multi Motors and likewise notch their first win in three games.

In the other game, Ateneo San Miguel Corp. downed University of Santo Tomas, 56-53, for its second successive win.
