Junior tennis tourney opens 17-leg circuit March 10
MANILA, Philippines—The next Filipino tennis star can be discovered in a grassroots tournament that will run across the country in three months.
Globe Telecom and Head Philippines have embarked in an aggressive campaign to find these talents in the 17th Head Graphene XT Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit to be held at 17 different local destinations from March 10 to June 7.
The annual junior tennis meet made the expansion from 11 legs last year in a bid to build the talent base for the national team.
Article continues after this advertisement“We’re molding a lot of young and talented individuals who are waiting for the chance to be the next local tennis sensation,” said Liza Tang-Yuquico, managing director of Head Philippines. “Aside from gaining points, it will prepare them to become tougher in local and international tournaments.”
The circuit, also backed by Inquirer.net and Hip Magazine, kicks off March 10 in Davao. It will move to Sultan Kudarat on March 16, Cagayan De Oro on March 22 before General Santos City closes out its Mindanao campaign on March 28. Dumaguete flags off the Visayas sojourn on April 5. June Navarro
