Bigger Vios Cup 2 fires off March 21 at Clark

MANILA, Philippines—On the heels of a successful run last year, the Toyota Vios Cup returns with an expanded second season starting March 21 at Clark International Speedway in Clark Freeport, Pampanga.

With a larger field and an expanded roster of celebrity drivers, this year’s Vios Cup could be the biggest one yet with four races also lined up.

And for the first time, organizers are reportedly set to bring the Vios Cup to Cebu later this year.

Part of the company’s thrust of “Waku Doki” or fun driving through motorsports, the inaugural race of the Vios Cup will also feature car club activities and drifting battles.

Drift driving specialist Keiichi Tsuchaya will be flying in from Japan to showcase his skills in an exhibition.

Toyota Philippines president Michinobu Sugata expressed excitement over the second season of the races.

“The Vios has proven that aside from its inherent features of quality, durability and reliability, it is also a car designed for fun,” said Sugata. “Some of our Season 1 racers should know—the special connection between the car and the driver is a bond that words alone cannot completely explain. Much grander races await to be witnessed.”

Held in partnership with Bridgestone and Rota, the Vios Cup is also backed by Motul, TRD, Denso, Brembo, AVT, OMP and Tuason Racing.

Among the celebrities added to this year’s roster are Jasmine Curtis Smith, Derek Ramsay, Joyce Pring and Kylie Padilla. Cedelf P. Tupas
