MANILA, Philippines–Finally, Miguel Cotto threw his two pennies in fight of the century.
Cotto chose Manny Pacquiao over Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the clash of boxing titans that has been the talk pretty much everywhere.
He chose Pacquiao over Mayweather after he worked with Freddie Roach, the Filipino’s iconic trainer.
“After working with Freddie I think he is going to be huge in the fight,” Cotto told New York Post. “I’m going for Manny.”
Cotto, who was initially adamant to pick between Pacquiao and Mayweather, has lost to both fighters.
Pacquiao made history in the 2009 Cotto fight when he won his seventh World title in seven divisions after clobbering the Puerto Rican to take the WBO Welterweight Championship.
And Pacquiao eventually took an eighth World title in as many divisions.
Cotto also lost to Mayweather in 2012 via unanimous decision.
