Thornton scores 50 in NLEX’s win over Ginebra

MANILA, Philippines — Import Al Thornton scored a season-high 50 points and NLEX continued to roll after a 96-90 win over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Wednesday night in the 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The former NBA veteran Thornton, who had stints with the Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards in the NBA, was unstoppable as he went 18-of-24 from the field including baskets down the stretch.

Thornton’s big performance carried the Road Warriors to their third consecutive victory and fourth win overall.

NLEX’s record now stands at 4-4 joining Ginebra, Barako Bull and Globalport in a tie for fifth place after starting the conference at 1-4.

Thornton also grabbed 18 rebounds in one of the most dominant displays of the season.
