Valdez, Santiago sisters lead PH’s Asian U23 pool

MANILA, Philippines — The newly-formed Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas (LVP) on Saturday bared the list of players part of the national team pool for the coming Asian Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship in May here.

Heading the pool are two-time UAAP MVP Alyssa Valdez of back-to-back champion Ateneo and the towering Santiago sisters Dindin and Jaja.

Valdez, widely-considered as the face of Philippine volleyball today, is joining two other Lady Eagles in the pool with Jia Morado and Bea de Leon also making it.

De La Salle setter Kim Fajardo, former Lady Spiker captain Aby Maraño and University of Santo Tomas rookie standout EJ Laura are also part of the pool along with Tigresses spiker Ria Meneses, San Sebastian’s Gretchel Soltones and Alyssa Eroa, Far Eastern U’s Tin Agno, National U’s Myla Pablo and Arellano University’s Christine Rosario.
