There is a rift inside the Ali family, and it has something to do with what’s happening on May 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Rasheda Ali, the daughter of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, insisted that her father is a fan of Manny Pacquiao, TMZ reported.

That, however, proved difficult for Rasheda as Lonnie, Muhammad’s wife, didn’t want the boxing great to appear to be siding to anyone.

“For political reasons, or other reasons, or because my dad didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, Lonnie didn’t want him to pick a side,” Rasheda told TMZ.

Ali’s spokesman clarified that Muhammad did not pick either Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their welterweight unification bout, considered as the biggest fight in boxing history.

Rasheda added that what she previously told TMZ was true where she told the outlet that “it was extremely accurate. It was exactly what I said to the word.”

It was, as Rasheda said, when other outlets twisted the thought making it as if Muhammad was going to be at Pacquiao’s corner come May 2.
