Los Angeles Cathedral High School Phantoms player Kobe Paras and his teammates paid a visit to Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao who is busy training for his May 2 (US time) mega fight with undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pacquiao accommodated the Phantoms in his Los Angeles mansion over the weekend.
In a report by GMA News, Pacquiao, who is also a playing coach for Kia Carnival in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), said that he saw Paras as a future player in the NBA.
“Malayo pa ang mararating nito and I’m sure he’s going to play in the NBA,” (He has a bright future ahead of him) Pacquiao said about Paras.
The Sarangani solon also gave an advice to the high school hoops team.
“Dedicate yourself to training, to practice, that is your weapon to become a good athlete,” Pacquiao said.
The father of Paras, PBA legend and actor Benjie Paras, accompanied the Phantoms during the visit. AJH
