Shakey’s V-league: Lady Rising Suns heavy picks over Baguio belles

Cagayan Valley tries to sustain its fiery form against Baguio Thursday in the Shakey’s V-League even as Fourbees-Perpetual Help and Philippine Coast Guard square off in a battle of winless teams in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena.

Impressive in their straight-set demolition of Fourbees on opening-day last Sunday, the Lady Rising Suns set out as the favorites in the 4 p.m. duel with Baguio, which was badly outclassed by PLDT Home Ultera in its debut.

Fourbees seeks to snap a two-game slide against a Coast Guard team that failed to impress in its V-League debut.

The Lady Altas also dropped their first two games to powerhouse teams Cagayan Valley and Army.

But with Coast Guard also struggling against Navy last Sunday, the Lady Altas feel they have a better chance of breaking into the win column against the Lady Dolphins, whose bid is bannered by veteran players Rosann Fajardo and Decie Ann Montero.

Action starts at 9 a.m. with the Spikers’ Turf men’s tournament pitting Air Force and Cignal.
