More than a month into his training for the biggest fight of his life, Manny Pacquiao on Sunday (Monday in Manila) spent some time off the ring to attend church service at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Los Angeles.
In a rare time when he isn’t in training, Pacquiao opened up about the darkest times he and his family had to hurdle and how his faith in God guided him through it.
During the Sunday service with Pastor Dudley Rutherford at the Sheperd Church Westside in Los Angeles, Pacquiao admitted that the fame and fortune got into his head that affected his marriage and family.
“There was a problem in our family because the fame goes to my head,” Pacquiao admitted. “I know how to gamble, I know how to drink, a lot of girls, womanizing, like that.”
Pacquiao, though, said that he’s a changed man – far from the person he once was.
“You know I accept that because that’s the old Manny Pacquiao,” an emotional Pacquiao, who converted to born-again Christian in 2011, said.
In a report on GMA’s 24Oras, Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee, who was in the crowd, was moved to tears while listening to Pacquiao’s talk.
