PH netters bow out of Fed Cup promotional tie

The country’s top female netter Katharina Lehnert downed India’s top singles player Ankita Raina but she and Clarice Patrimonio dropped two other matches as the Philippines bowed out of the Fed Cup Group 2 promotional tie last Sunday in Hyderabad. Lehnert stunned Raina, 2-6, 7-5, 7-5, before Patrimonio lost to Prarthana Thombare, 6-3, 6-1, and Lehnert and Patrimonio to World No. 1 women’s doubles player Sania Mirza and Thombare, 6-3, 6-3.
