PLDT Spikers eye 5th V-League win

Already assured of a quarterfinals slot, PLDT Home Ultera seeks a fifth straight victory against a resurgent Navy squad in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Ultra Fast Spikers set out as favorites in the 4 p.m. duel with the Lady Sailors who are gunning for a third victory in five outings.

Flashing the depth of its squad, PLDT negotiated the toughest part of its first round schedule with ease, rolling past title contenders Army and Cagayan Valley in consecutive weeks.

But the Lady Sailors also came through with a noteworthy performance by besting Perpetual Help Fourbees in five sets last Thursday.

Baguio and Fourbees aim to boost their quarterfinal hopes when they clash in the first game at 2 p.m.

Holding a 1-3 slate, the Lady Altas are just half a game ahead of the Summer Spikers who absorbed a beating at the hands of Cagayan Valley last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Cignal shoots for a third straight victory against struggling Cavite Fourbees in Spikers’ Turf mens volleyball action.

Still winless in three matches, Instituto Estetico Manila takes on Philippine Air Force at 9 a.m.
