Sonny Angara hopes Pacquiao visits Senate soon

Senator Sonny Angara hopes that Saranggani Representative Manny Pacquiao will soon find his way to the Senate, at least to personally receive commendations from the chamber.

Angara, chairman of the Senate committee on games, amusements and sports, noted that even before Pacquaio became a congressman, he has always visited the House of Representatives but not the Senate.

(I hope Pacquiao can come to the Senate so he can see that we also honor him here. I know right now he’s still recuperating because he was complaining about his shoulder earlier. But when he’s well enough, when he’s recovered from jetlag, I hope he can attend here at the Senate.)

Win or lose, Angara said Pacquiao deserves a commendation.

If he were to ask, Angara said there should be a rematch between the two boxers after Pacquiao fully recovers from his shoulder injury.

“Oo,rematch nalang. Kung sa feeling ni Mayweather na talagang kompiyansa siya na matatalo niya si Pacman, why doesn’t he offer a rematch ‘di ba?”  he asked.

(Yes, just do a rematch. If Mayweather really feels confident that he will beat Pacman, why doesn’t he offer a rematch, right?)

Angara also believes that Pacquiao should not yet retire from boxing despite his recent defeat.

(I think Manny can still have a few more fights. We saw how he trained, his commitment in training, we saw his performance despite the injury. He fought with one [good] hand and yet the decision was close.) CC
