Fighters make weight for UFC Fight Night 66

Everything is set for the Philippines’ first UFC card.

It seems UFC Fight Night 66: Edgar vs. Faber can be pulled through without a hitch as the fighters made weight at the official weigh-ins Friday evening at Mall of Asia Arena.

Main event fighters Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber both made use of the pound allowance as each fighter clocked in at 146 pounds, just a pound higher than the 145 lb-limit of the featherweight division.

Mark Muñoz, who will fight his on his farewell bout on Saturday, clocked in a pound higher than the 185-pound middleweight limit but got the luxury of the pound allowance as he will compete in a non-title fight.

His opponent, Luke Barnatt met the maximum at 185 lbs.

Barnatt said he was still at around 200 lbs on Thursday and he ate carbohydrate-rich foods like rice and potatoes.

He added he will rely on the Philippine humidity to aid in his weight-loss.

Gerard Mousasi was smack at the 185-lb middleweight limit while his opponent Costas Philippou got away with the pound allowance as he was recorded at 186 lbs.

Hyun Gyu Lim clocked in at 171 lbs while Neil Magny was at the welterweight maximum at 170 lbs.

Filipino Mark Eddiva and his opponent Georgian Levan Makashvili both made the featherweight limit of 145 lbs.

Philippe Nover made the 145-lb featherweight limit but his opponent, Yui Chul Nam clocked in at 146 lbs but got use of the pound allowance.
