Chikara gains softball semis
Defending champion Chikara of Brunei blasted National University-A, 6-3, Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the ninth Summer Grand Slam softball tournament at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.
With former Blu Girls Sarah Agravante and Esmeralda Tayag spearheading the charge, the Brunei-based softbelles rolled to their fourth straight victory after dropping a 5-6 decision to the Adamson Alumni on opening day last Wednesday.
Despite their second loss in five games, the Bulldogs remained in the hunt for a semifinal slot. Also in contention is Adamson, which totes a 3-1 slate and Rizal Technological U, which has an even 2-2 card just like Adamson Alumni.

Adamson trounced Sta. Maria, Bulacan, 8-1, in the women’s club category.
