Lakers’ Fil-Am guard Jordan Clarkson to celebrate NBA Playoffs in Manila

He’s a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, he’s half-Filipino, and he’s coming to the Philippines.

Jordan Clarkson, one-fifth of NBA’s 2015 All-Rookie Team, will come to the Philippines with Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke and NBA great Horace Grant.

In a statement from the NBA, the trio will visit the Philippines to celebrate the NBA Playoffs with one of the world’s most rabid basketball fans.

Joining the three are Oklahoma City Thunder’s Thunder Girls and Charlotte Hornets’ mascot Hugo the Hornet.

NBA Café Manila will host Clarkson and Burke on May 22 and 24 as they air Games 2 and 3 of the Golden State-Houston series in the Western Conference Finals.

Grant will join the two on May 24.

Clarkson was chosen as one of the five rookies in the NBA All-Rookie team joining Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins of the Timberwolves, Nikola Mirotic of the Bulls, Elfrid Payton of the Magic, and Nerlens Noel of the Sixers.

With the absence of Laker superstar Kobe Bryant, the 6-foot-5 Clarkson stepped in the shooting guard spot and averaged 15.8 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.8 rebounds and started 38 games for Los Angeles. AU
