NCAA welcomes EAC, Lyceum as regular members to kick off 91st season
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has accepted two newest regular members to usher in its 91st season.
In a statement, NCAA management committee chair Melchor Divina welcomed the addition of the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals and Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates to the oldest collegiate league in the country.
“EAC and Lyceum are now regular members of the NCAA starting this season,” Divina said.
Article continues after this advertisementThe status of EAC and Lyceum were both upgraded to “complete regular” after complying with all the requirements, the statement said.
EAC and Lyceum now join the other eight NCAA member schools, namely Mapua, defending seniors basketball champion San Beda, University of Perpetual Help System, Letran, reigning overall champion College of St. Benilde, Jose Rizal University, and Arellano.
With the theme “Engineered for Sports Excellence in the New Decade,” NCAA Season 91 is set to kick off on June 27 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Article continues after this advertisementFive-peat champion San Beda will face Mapua at 2 p.m., while last year’s runner-up Arellano University will go against third placer Jose Rizal at 4 p.m.
