Roi Sumang nailed the go-ahead basket with 7.3 left in the clock as Tanduay Light sunk KeraMix, 70-69, Thursday in the final eliminations game of the 2015 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Though KeraMix still had a chance to snatch the game and possibly advance to the quarterfinals, Mike DiGregorio’s drive was blocked by Raymond Ilagan, while Mike Parala and Jamil Gabawan both flubbed their potential game-winners as the Rhum Masters eliminated the Mixers.
Sumang led Tanduay with 16 points while Kris Rosales and Aljon Mariano both knocked down 10 markers apiece.
DiGregorio paced KeraMix with 17 points.
Despite forcing a three-way tie for the sixth spot at 4-5, the victory for the Rhum Masters proved to be for naught, losing the quarterfinals berth to AMA University due to the quotient system.
The idle Titans are set to clash with the third-seed Cagayan Gerry’s on Monday with the Rising Suns enjoying a twice-to-beat edge. CC
