Allwell Oraeme stamped his class on Friday as the Nigerian center propelled Mapua to an 81-65 victory in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at the Arena in San Juan.
Oraeme notched a huge double-double, registering 21 points and 19 rebounds, to go with four blocks, as the Cardinals scored their second straight victory after five consecutive defeats.
“Our intensity was good from the start. We are a young team so I need them to go all-out when we play,” said Mapua coach Atoy Co.
Bien Dela Rosa also joined the scoring party, tallying 20 markers, as guard Stephen Que added 11.
Josan Nimes was also a key to the win, going for eight points and six assists, as Mapua improved to 2-5.
Wilson Baltazar led Lyceum (1-6) with 13 points. AU
