Pampanga, QC-UP fives arrange FBA title clash
PAMPANGA Foton Tornadoes routed Antipolo Wangs Pilgrims, 99-83, and reached the finals of the Filsports Basketball Association (FBA) First Confer-ence at Oreta Sports Complex in Malabon City over the weekend.
Leading Best Player of the Conference candidate Levi Hernandez fired 24 points as the Tornadoes forged a finals tiff with Quezon City-UP Diliman Fighting Maroons, who bested the Metro Racal Auto Center Artemis, 64-53.
Mark Montuano fired 18 points and had five rebounds for Wangs.
In the other semifinal match, the Maroons banked on a 26-13 third-quarter run to shake off the Artemis.
Andres Desiderio led the Fighting Maroons with 21 points.
The one-game championship will be held June 6. The top-seeded Tornadoes will host the Maroons in San Fernando, Pampanga. It will be aired on PTV 4 starting at 3:30 pm.
