Vengeful Rolando Dy, son of former boxer Navarette, eyes PXC Bantamweight title
Redemption dawns on Rolando Dy as he tries to atone for his loss to Kyle Aguon by taking the Bantamweight Championship on Saturday in Pacific Xtreme Combat 48 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Losing to the defending champ on their first duel in Guam last October, the Davaoeño feels that he got robbed after a controversial split decision handed the then-vacant title to Aguon.

Sa tingin ko ako dapat yung nanalo,” Dy said. “Part of me di pa maka-move on sa past fight namin. Alam ko deep inside ako ang nanalo. Nagkataon lang na nasa hometown nila.”
(You always watch MMA fights. You know how the scoring goes. He did not inflict any damage to me when I was in the ground. I was the one pushing from the first to fifth rounds. I think I should be the one who won. Part of me still can’t move on from our past fight. I know deep inside, it was me who won. It just so happens that we were in his hometown.)
Given a chance to correct the mistake of the fight he firmly believes he should have won, Dy will look for the kill in their rematch.

Dy said that he did all he could to prepare for his fight— cross-training with pro boxers, jiu jitsu fighters, and even SEA Games-bound wrestlers.
“Handa na ako. Iniisip ko na bagong laban na naman, pero hindi ko sya pwede i-underestimate. Alam ko na mananalo na ako ngayon (I’m ready. I’m thinking that this is a new fight, but I can’t underestimate him. I know I will win this time out),” he said.
The fight between Dy (5-3) and Aguon (8-4) will be the main event of PXC 48’s nine match card, which will also feature Crisanto Pitpitunge (7-3) challenging PXC Flyweight Champion Alvin Cacdac (16-3) for the title. CFC
