‘We came unprepared,’ Travis admits after Game One loss
PBA’s Governors’ Cup opened into one team asserting its dominance and one team rolling into a ball and crying in one corner.
Game One saw San Miguel embarrass Alaska 108-78 and Romeo Travis finding out what went wrong.

“I wouldn’t call it rust. We just came in unprepared. They came in more aggressive than us offensively and defensively and it showed,” Travis said
Alaska had almost a week of rest while San Miguel only had one day of rest before Game One and the Beermen came out firing while the Aces came out slugging.

“It’s just a lot of things. If our offense is better, our defense is better. We’ll clean some things up and get back on Sunday,” Travis said after he finished with 14 points and six rebounds but shot at an abysmal 6-of-18 from the field.
Still, Travis did not dwell on the loss and remained upbeat for Game Two.
“It’s a series. It’s still one game. It’s an ugly game, but it’s still only one game. You beat us by 30, it doesn’t count for two games. It’s still one game. It’s a very long series, it’s not a best-of-5, it’s not a twice-to-beat. It’s a best-of-7. We’ll make adjustments like they’re gonna make adjustments and we’ll see in the next game.”
