FEU coach pleased with Lady Tams’ character in win over Arellano

Far Eastern University did not get an easy assignment for its second game in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference in NCAA defending champion Arellano University.

And the Lady Tamaraws showed a lot of grit to grind out a 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 25-16 win over the Lady Chiefs in a game that last for more than two hours.

FEU’s game wasn’t perfect but its head coach Shaq delos Santos said he’s pleased with how his team showed character in beating a quality team like Arellano.

“These are the NCAA champions, we can’t take them (Arellano) lightly,” Delos Santos said. “We can’t underestimate every opponent we face. They are executing, on and off the court they are well-disciplined.”

And despite his team’s flaws, delos Santos opted to look at the overall picture.

“There were still errors but overall they were okay.”
