The appointments of Tim Cone and Jason Webb as the new head coaches of Barangay Ginebra and Star, respectively, are expected to be formalized as early as Tuesday, a source coming from the San Miguel Corp. group told the Inquirer.
Cone will take over from Frankie Lim and will be the most seasoned coach that the Gin Kings will be having ever since Jong Uichico left four years ago.

The change in coaches of both teams was broken by the Inquirer last week and a board member of one of the three SMC teams that watched Game 4 of the San Miguel-Alaska Governors’ Cup series told some members of the press to “wait for Tuesday” when pressed to confirm the news.
Representatives of the SMC group cannot be reached for comment at press time and the Inquirer went back to its original source to find out when the announcement will be made.

The announcement will come on the heels of pleas by Purefoods/Star fans through Twitter a couple of days ago that appealed to SMC boss Ramon S. Ang to reconsider his decision in moving Cone to take over Ginebra.
