What happens to coach Frankie Lim?
On the heels of Tim Cone’s appointment as the head tactician for Ginebra, it was the former San Beda coach who found himself on the outs.
Not much has been written on Lim’s future with San Miguel Corporation, and even SMC President Ramon S. Ang declined to shed some light on the fiery coach’s status with the company.

“I think we’ll just hope for whatever good happens to our players and our teams,” said Ang during San Miguel’s victory party Tuesday night, shifting the focus back to the SMC teams in general before making a quick exit.
Lim was installed as Ginebra’s head coach prior to the season-ending Governors’ Cup, its third lead bench tactician in the 40th season after Jeffrey Cariaso and Ato Agustin.
With him leading the show, the Gin Kings stumbled to a 0-2 record before recovering and making a late run to the eighth seed of the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup, just to be eliminated by Alaska in the quarterfinals.

Known as a disciplinarian, Lim was expected by fans to bring order to the struggling Ginebra squad.
However, the team’s woeful showing clearly took a toll on everyone, including the coach.
During Lim’s brief stint, he was meted with a one-game suspension and P50,000 fine after hitting Calvin Abueva in Ginebra’s season-ending defeat against the Aces. The ban was supposed to take effect on the first game next season, but it looks like that has to wait until the next time Lim finds himself calling the shots for another team. CFC
