Reigning featherweight king Reydon Romero and Alvin Ramirez battle equally explosive foreign rivals Saturday in the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) 26: Domination at Fontana Conventional Hall in Clark Field, Pampanga.
Romero defends his URCC belt against Malaysian Jian Kai Chee in the main event of the 10-fight card organized by URCC, reputedly the country’s biggest MMA outfit.
Ramirez, on the other hand, goes up against Japanese Hideo Morikawa for the vacant flyweight title in the fight card sponsored by Fontana, Tribal Gear, Solar Sports, Robust, Sound Brothers & Pink Productions.
Morikawa, a karate black belter, totes a 7-3 record against the veteran Ramirez (6-6), who is expected to use his experience and knockout power.
The event, which starts at 6:30 p.m., also features defending bantamweight champion Andrew Benibe, who will defend his title against Jerson “Salleng” Estoro in a fight URCC founder Alvin Aguilar says is too close to call.
Seven other fights are in the undercard, including the clash between Carlo Laurel and CJ de Tomas and that of female fighters Dolores Meek and Chinese Yang Xiaonan.
Other undercard duels: Chris Hofmann vs Jeremias Tan, Mark Palomar vs Sam Mison, Drez Zamboanga vs Korean Do-Kyum Lee, Arvin Chan vs Isiah Ordiz, and Ruel Rio vs Bernard Soriano.
