Foton hurdled a first set loss as it bounced back against Gilligan’s, 18-21, 21-18, 15-12, in the group stages of the Philippine Super Liga Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup on Saturday at SM By The Bay.

With the win, the Hurricanes recorded a 2-0 record in Group D and ensured a slot in the quarterfinals of the sand courts.

Bea Tan and Pau Soriano’s duo found the right groove in the third set, hurdling lapses in communication and taking advantage of a service error from the side of Danika Gendrauli and Jane Diaz to finish the match.

Tan, despite the win, wasn’t satisfied with the victory, pointing out to their errors which plagued them throughout much of the match.

“It wasn’t our best game for sure. There were too many errors, we could’ve played better especially on our receives,” Tan said.

“Our aim is perfection.”

Foton still has one game left for the day but the last match is a mere formality.
