‘Ready’ Lanete makes jump to pros, applies for 2015 PBA Draft

Garvo Lanete is finally making the jump to the pros.

The former San Beda Red Lion formally applied for the rookie selection on Monday, ending his long career in the amateurs which saw him top the PBA D-League in points.

Lanete, 26, is the younger brother of Barako Bull guard Chico Lanete.

The 6-foot-2 swingman played with the Red Lions from 2007 to 2012, where he won four NCAA titles.

He was also named the 2014 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Most Valuable Player after steering NLEX to numerous championship runs.

After helping Hapee nab the 2015 PBA Aspirants’ Cup championship, he missed the succeeding Foundation Cup after nursing a MCL injury.

Lanete, though, expressed his readiness to join the pro league.

“I’m ready. I’m almost in shape because I just recovered from my injury,” he said in a text message to INQUIRER.net. CFC
