The Philippines collected four gold and four bronze medals to finish fifth in the recent 8th Asian Junior Wushu Championships held at Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, China.

Benguet’s Alieson Ken Omengan, 2014 worlds nandao champion, spearheaded the Philippine campaign and emerged a double gold medalist (nandao and nanquan), while sharing the bronze  in group event.

2013 Asian Junior Wushu Championships taijijian 42 forms gold medalist Agatha Chrystenzen Wong retained her title and Baguio City’s Spencer Bahod, 2015 SEA Games silver medalist, grabbed the gold in the men’s side to round out the country’s golden output.

Wong added a bronze medal in the taijiquan. Aleca Breana Dumseng (qiangshu) and Faith Liana Andaya (jianshu), both from Baguio City, likewise, settled for  bronzes.
