Howard Mojica carried the scoring cudgels anew with 18 points including four aces and a block for the Generals, who arrested a three-game slide for a 3-3 card.
The Maroons further slid to 1-4 after giving away 30 points off errors while only managing 27 points off kills.
Alfred Balbuena likewise scored 18 but on a losing effort for UP, which remains in the running for a semifinals berth.
Unbeaten squads Ateneo and National University are already assured of the first two semifinal seats with similar 5-0 records.
