World cycling stint for PH U-23 team
THE PHILIPPINE under-23 cycling team will compete in the World Cycling Championship set Sept. 20 to 27 in Richmond, Virginia, with an eye on boosting its drive for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
“This is our first time in the world championship, but it’s also a chance for us earn more points going to Rio,” said PhilCycling president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.
The Cavite congressman said the Philippines should improve to No. 4 in the Asian rankings prior to the December cut-off for the Summer Games next year.
The PH team is composed of John Mark Camingao, Ronald Oranza, Rustom Lim and either Ronald Lomotos or Dominic Perez.
