THE METROTURF Complex unveiled plans for several land development projects that will add to the world-class racetrack that already sits on the 50-hectare facility located between Malvar town and Tanauan City in Batangas.
MetroTurf made the announcement after its operators, led by president Dr. Norberto Quisumbing Jr., thanked the racing public for making the venue the country’s second biggest-grossing center racetrack.
Though Quisumbing did not elaborate, the development of the area around the racing facility will make it as one of the fastest-rising and most modern communities in the Calabarzon region, as well as a fine venue for functions and affairs.
“This is very good news to all our supporters and also to the racing fans who have been helping us build the name of the MetroTurf,” said Quisumbing. “We are No. 2 in terms of sales from our racing operation because of the exciting races that are being held here twice a week.
“We have already identified the various developments we intend to implement soon in order to make full use of the idle lands we have inside MetroTurf.
“Our supporters should be assured that we are continuing non-stop in upgrading our facilities and services.”
There are already more than 1,000 race horses stabled in the facility, and this is expected to grow with the rise of new infrastructure.
Also, the spacious clubhouse and grandstand are both available for use on non-racing days. Steve Silva, Contributor
