Ateneo flew to the promised land of the finals in Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference as it took down National College of Business and Arts, 25-19, 25-13, 25-22, in Game 2 of their semifinal series Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

Reserve Gian Glorioso fired away for his lone point of the match to seal the Blue Eagles’ spot in the finals against National University, which earlier disposed of Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Blue Eagles head coach Oliver Almadro is wary of the Bulldogs’ height and offensive prowess but be plans to counter with consistency and just going all out.

“Their strength is that they’re tall and it’s really their offense which is pretty dangerous,” Almadro said.

Ateneo could’ve ended the match quicker after Ishmael Rivera’s back row attack gave the Blue Eagles the 24-19 match point but the Wildcats persevered to tally four straight points, 24-22.

Marck Espejo and Ysrael Marasigan led the Blue Eaglea with 11 points apiece while Joshua Villanueva and Antony Koyfman each had 11.

Edwin Tolentino led the Wildcats with seven points.
