Petron yields to taller Kazakhs in Asian volleyball tilt

Petron got steamrolled by Zhetyssu of Kazakhstan, 17-25, 18-25, 20-25, in the classification stages of the Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championships Saturday at Ha Nam Gymansium in Vietnam. 

After conceding the first two sets, the Blaze Spikers were primed to extend the game after building a 13-10 bubble but the Kazakhs regrouped and were able to recover and win in straight sets.

Rachel Ann Daquis scored nine points for the Blaze Spikers.

Victoria Yemialyanchyk led Zhetsyu with 16 points while Tatyana Mudritskaya had 15 points.
