Adamson coach Mike Fermin thinks the Falcons will still come out fighting even after the rookie mentor got slapped with a one-game suspension Monday in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.
“We’re still positive,” said Fermin, who got ejected in the fourth quarter during the Falcons’ 88-71 loss to La Salle last Sunday.
“The spirit of the boys is there. Even if we’re down, they’re always fighting.”
UAAP commissioner Rebo Saguisag said Fermin would be “automatically suspended in the immediately succeeding game.”
Saguisag said Fermin has also been issued a warning that “repetition of the same or related acts will be dealt with more severely.”
Fermin got thrown out following two consecutive technical fouls called on the Adamson bench and the mentor.
While complaining to the referees, Fermin also made a slit-throat gesture. But he later explained the action only meant that the referees killed the Falcons’ momentum after several fouls were called on them.
Fermin told the Inquirer that Adamson won’t appeal his suspension, but will “seek clarification” on the calls made in the game.
