De Asis eyes two more tennis plums
Kiana de Asis and Karl Baran seek another title romp as they banner the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala Pintaflores Festival age-group tennis field today at San Carlos City Tennis Center in Negros Occidental.
De Asis dominated the last two Visayas legs, bagging two titles each in Pontevedra and Panaad. She faces a tougher challenge this weekend with top seed Tracy Llamas out to live up to her billing in the girls’ 14-, 16- and 18-and-under categories of the Technifibre-backed event.
Baran, also from La Carlota like De Asis, is eyeing a sweep of the boys’ top two titles against an equally talented field that include Eldyzar Alvarico, Matthew Flores, Troy Llamas, Rewel Justiniani and Reynan Mahusay, both in 16- and 18-U.
