From the UAAP to the world stage, University of the Philippines is once again tapped to represent the country in the Cheerleading World Championships in Berlin slated next month, according to a statement released by the Philippine Embassy in Berlin.

The UP Pep Squad hopes to bag the gold medal this time after taking home a bronze in Cheer Mixed event and a silver in Partner Stunts last year in Bangkok.

The Philippines will be up against 19 other countries with the competition scheduled from Nov. 21 to 22, welcoming about 1,300 participants.

The UP Pep Squad holds the most number of UAAP Cheerdance Competition titles with eight along with the University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe.

UP finished just 2nd runner-up in the 2015 Cheerdance Competition held last month with UST coming in as 1st runner-up and National U Pep Squad nailing its third straight crown.

UP will compete in the Cheer Mixed, All Girls, Group Stunts and Partner Stunts events.
