Philippine Army rained down on Philippine Navy, 25-14, 25-17, 25-14, to stay unscathed in the Shakey’s V-League Reinforced Conference Saturday at San Juan Arena.

It was complete domination for the Lady Troopers who played without captain Tina Salak, who was given the day off by head coach Kung Fu Reyes.

“Everything went well,” Reyes said as they moved up to 3-0. “We had steady first balls and that allowed [substitute setter] Jane Gonzales to dictate.”

Honey Rose Tubino led all scorers with 18 points while Jovelyn Gonzaga added 15.

Paulina Soriano led the 2-2 Lady Sailors with nine points.

Philippine Navy could not get anything going offensively as they only recorded 24 spikes while Philippine Army recorded 38 spikes and eight blocks.

With a commanding performance, Reyes said his team is always confident every time they step on the floor.

“We’re always confident and we’re here to compete.”
