White told LA Times Rousey has the ability to bounce back and overcome the shock defeat she got at the hands of Holm in UFC 193.

“Ronda is the fiercest competitor I have ever met in my life and she’s also very proud,” White said in the report. “What made the world love Ronda is that Ronda absolutely knew she was not going to lose… people rallied around this powerful female figure.”

Lenny Fresquez, Holm’s manager, told the LA Times he met with UFC officials and received the proposal for the Rousey rematch but expressed concerns the former champion won’t be ready for the July 9 fight.

“I’m not sure Ronda will be ready for a Julyn fight,” Fresquez said. “She took a severe beating and I don’t think it’s in her best interest to take the fight so fast. They told me she’s been cleared and ready.”

Fresquez added no.1 contender Miesha Tate deserves a title shot but “it’s not for me to decide.”
