Shooster Olago powered University of San Carlos to the round of four of the National Collegiate Championship with a convincing 82-72 victory over University of Santo Tomas Tuesday night at the Filoil Flying V Arena.
Throwing his weight around, the 6-foot-8 Cameroonian scored 10 of his team’s last 13 points as the Warriors arranged a semifinal showdown with UAAP champion Far Eastern U Wednesday.
Olago made the Tigers pay for failing to contain him in the paint, especially in the closing minutes when the Cesafi champion Warriors built a double-digit advantage.
The Tigers also completely struggled from the three-point zone when they ferociously chased down the Warriors with Kevin Ferrer and Ed Daquioag missing a total of six threes between them.
