The Washington Wizards will pay tribute to Filipinos all over the world as they host Filipino Heritage Night against the Miami Heat on Monday (Manila time) at the Verizon Center.
Two months ago, NBA champion Golden State Warriors likewise hosted the event when they outlasted the Brooklyn Nets in overtime, 107-99.

The Warriors wore a Philippine-themed pregame shirt during shootaround for that game alone. The Oracle Arena parking lot also hosted food trucks featuring Filipino dishes.
It is unsure, though, whether they are also cooking something up in line with the celebration.

What’s certain is the Wizards are eyeing to repeat their victory over the Heat, whose head coach Erik Spoelstra traces his roots to San Pablo, Laguna, early in December.
The Wizards are currently climbing their way to make the playoff picture at 11th in the Eastern Division while the Heat are sitting in fifth place and are a half-game behind the fourth-running Chicago Bulls.
